Travel tips

  • Protected Area Permit (PAP): Required for Indian visitors to access Nathula Pass and some nearby areas. Registered local tour operators arrange the permit.
  • Carry warm clothing throughout the year, especially above 10,000 ft.
  • Roads are winding; if you're prone to motion sickness, carry appropriate medication.
  • Because of the high altitude, stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activity if you feel unwell.
